Average Monthly Cost: $2,500 to $10,000 per month

Services Typically Provided:

  • Three daily meals provided
  • Medication monitoring and administration
  • Room upkeep and house cleaning
  • Laundry
  • Some select medical services
  • Organized community activities
  • Emergency call systems and some emergency services provided
  • Physical and mental wellness programs

Alzheimer’s / Memory Care

Average Monthly Cost: $3,100 to $10,300 per month

Services Typically Provided:

  • Three daily meals along with snacks typically available most of the day
  • Housekeeping and laundry
  • Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) which can include getting dressed, showering, etc.
  • Around the clock security
  • Typically, a lower staff to resident ratio
  • Daily set routines aimed to lower stress levels for those with dementia or Alzheimer’s
  • Specifically trained staff to handle memory care residents
  • Layout will often provide identifying colors or landmarks in specific areas to help aid memory care patients
  • Secured exits that stop residents from wandering off

In-Home Care

Average Hourly Cost: $25-$45 Per Hour

Services Typically Provided:

  • Aid in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) which can include bathing, grooming, and encouraging your loved one to eat
  • Help with tasks around the home (vacuuming, cleaning, etc.)
  • Physician-directed care if they are recovering from an ailment or injury
  • Companionship that can encourage hobbies and activities
  • Assistance in traveling to doctor or rehabilitative appointments
  • Grocery and errand assistance
  • Aid in wheelchair to bed transferring if needed
  • Pet care

Independent Senior Housing

Average Monthly Cost: $1,500 – $6,200 per month

Services Typically Provided:

  • Maintenance-free living including the freedom from yard upkeep and landscaping maintained
  • Socialization activities for the entire community
  • 24-hour on-site security
  • Daily finance management
  • On-site meal preparation or food services
  • On-site fitness centers and beauty salons
  • Laundry services
  • Could be part of a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that allows residents to stay at the same facility from independent living through skilled nursing care

Residential Care

Average Monthly Cost: Around $2,500- $3,500 for a shared room with private rooms ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 per month.

Services Typically Provided:

  • Daily hygiene help (bathing, dressing, etc.)
  • Medication management and distribution
  • Bathroom assistance if necessary

  • Transpiration aid to appointments
  • On-site support 24/7

Nursing Homes
